Mount Prindle Campground is one of two BLM campgrounds located at either end of Nome Creek Valley on the southern edge of the White Mountains National Recreation Area. Situated below Mount Prindle peak (elevation 5,286 feet), the campground features 13 sites nestled among tall willow shrubs with expansive alpine tundra meadows above. Each campsite includes a parking area, picnic tables, and fire rings. The campground is maintained during summer (June through mid-September) with hand pump wells, trash cans, and outhouse-style toilets. Camping is free for up to 14 consecutive days. Popular activities include gold panning in Nome Creek and exploring the nearby Quartz Creek Trail. To reach the campground from Fairbanks, take the Steese Highway to mile 57, follow U.S. Creek Road for seven miles to Nome Creek Road, then turn right for 4 miles to the upper valley and campground.
